As the golden hues of autumn start to fill the world outside, many of us look for ways to bring that cozy, seasonal warmth indoors. One of the most effective...
Please find below a few of our commonly-asked questions. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@hangersat.com.
How do I measure the opening space?
Please see our Guide ‘How To Measure’.
My opening height is bigger than 2500mm, what can I do?
Unfortunately our maximum opening height for our sliding wardrobe doors is 2500mm.
What is an Outer Framing Kit?
An outer framing kit creates the external framework of the wardrobe.
Where do you deliver to?
We will deliver all over the mainland UK.
How much does delivery cost?
Our delivery cost is £125.00.
Are track sets included with my wardrobe doors?
Yes. We supply a matching top and bottom track with all of our sliding wardrobe doors, this is included within the price. This would be provided oversized and would need to be cut down on installation.
What are the dimensions of the trackset?
Both our Steel and Aluminium Top Tracks are 90mm thick and the Bottom Tracks are 87mm thick.
How do the sliding doors run in the tracks?
All of our sliding doors are bottom rolling, and have either a top guide or top roller to steady the panel in the tracks. All of the weight is carried by the bottom track, the top track is simply a guide and carries no weight. Except for the Optima System, where the doors will sit on top of the kabinet interior.
Do I need a Professional to install my sliding wardrobe?
No, you will not need a professional.
All of our wardrobes and interiors are simple to construct, a competent DIYer would have no trouble installing them.
What is an end panel?
Sliding wardrobes are designed to run between wall to wall, however some people want their wardrobe to sit from one wall and stop before the opposite wall. They may even decide to have their wardrobe to sit in the middle of the chosen backwall. If the wardrobe does not have a wall to run too, we would supply one or two end panels, depending where the wardrobe is intended for. This acts as a side panel for the doors to close up against. An End Panel is made from MFC (Melamine- faced chipboard). Our standard end panels are 640mm deep x 2800mm High x 18mm thick.
What is a Liner?
A liner is a piece of MFC (Melamine-faced chipboard). The purpose of a liner is to act as a threshold for the bottom track as well as a wall liner where the sliding doors will meet the wall. Basically a strip of wood that frames your sliding wardrobe doors, either on the floor or walls. Our liners are part of the outer framing kit. You do not always need threshold or wall liners, however we recommend using the liners as they do frame the opening nicely. They give you an opportunity to square your opening by packing them out until they are vertical or horizontal. Our standard liners are 87mm deep x 2800mm x 18mm thick.
Does the floor finish or type affect my sliding wardrobe?
The sliding wardrobe door bottom track can be fitted to any level floor finish including carpet, Lino, laminate, tile, concrete, stone and wood. We would always recommend the threshold to be installed under the trackset on top of the finished floor.
How easy is it to install the soft close mechanisms?
Please see our ‘How to install soft close’ Guide.
What kind of glass is used in the wardrobe doors?
The glass is 4mm safety backed EN12600.
What kind of wood is used for the timber door panels?
We use the below timber door panels:
Where is the best place to put my sliding wardrobe?
Sliding wardrobes can be fitted anywhere it is entirely up to you. We do recommend the sliding wardrobe goes in an area where there is at least 640mm from the back wall. With no radiators, doors or windows in the space where you would like the wardrobe to go. Our wardrobes can be installed from wall to wall, wall to end panel and end panel to end panel.
Will my sliding wardrobe doors work if the opening is not square?
Our doors are designed as a handed system meaning a single door will only fit to one location within the wardrobe, either the left-hand side right hand side or middle. Our fitting guides provide full instructions on how to correctly adjust your doors and pack your linings to ensure the doors close correctly.
How deep are the wardrobes?
We recommend a minimum depth of 640mm, this is so that the clothes hanger can fit inside the wardrobe with enough clearance.
What is the maximum weight the clothes hanger bar and MFC Shelving can take?
The maximum weight a 1350mm section can take is 60kgs, for both the shelf and hanging bar. Care must be taken to avoid interior overload and stored items to not snag the back of the door or sliding gear.
How can I calculate the door width and do the doors overlap?
The sliding doors overlap each other so the framework on the side of each door lines up with the door in front or behind. This measurement will vary from system to system and will be calculated for you when you enter your width and height measurements into the ‘Start my Journey’ section.
